I know what I am...baby darling doll face honey!

I have a couple of things I wanted to blog about but I've had a week from hell...so this is it.  You get my feature song...I KNOW WHAT I AM - band of skulls...

When I've had a chance to reflect on the week that's been I will write something.  I won't guarantee that it will make sense but it will be something.

I know you can't wait...

Feature Song: Kitty, Daisy & Lewis

It was difficult for me to decide this week what song to choose.  There are so many songs that speak to me on a daily basis - jeez on an hourly or even minute basis.  I could only choose one, so I've chosen the one that reflects how I feel a lot lately.

Besides this trio all being under the age of 20, and the fact that they capture the sound/era magnificently, this is a brilliant version.  The original was by 'Canned Heat' also a brilliant version but different. if I remember correctly it was the opening track to 'Woodstock' (you have to be born after 1969 to know what that is) but even then you've know doubt heard of it considering it was the first outdoor festival that paved the way for our fantastic festivals today - although none quite as famous as Woodstock. This picture gives you an idea :-)

Anyway, this weeks it's all about the song 'Going up Country' by Kitty, Daisy and Lewis.  I just adore their rendition and the country never seemed more attractive when they rockabilly on to it.

Have fun, stomp the feet, click the fingers and have a damn good sing-a-long.

Feature song...

It's that time of the week again and I haven't come up with a better title for the song of the week.  Any suggestions?

Anyway, I'm just loving sooooo' many songs already this year and must get cracking to vote for Triple J's hottest 100.  Great prizes to be won, so get cracking - closes midnight 17th Jan, 2010.

To kick off this week I've chosen Kings of Convenience - Boat Behind - there is much to love about this song - so so much to love :-)

Can someone tell me what the stringed instrument is?  I suspect it's a violin and if it is, I'm constantly surprised how gorgeous an instrument it really is when played properly.

HAPPY NEW YEAR - HIP HIP, CHIN CHIN

Happy New Year!!

I'm making a change to my 'song of the month' because music is so important to me and kinda fits with my love of travel, writing and dance.  Some of the things I guess I couldn't or wouldn't want to live without!

So I'm gonna post a song a week!  I'm gonna call it 'Feature song' unless I can come up with something better between this week and next.  Why one a week? Because music inspires me to write, to love, to laugh, to dance.  One song a month is just not enough.  If it can inspire me, it might inspire you and if not - well then that's okay too.

The song I've chosen to kick of the New Year also includes Dance, so a double whammy.  This song/dance 'Hip Hip Chin Chin - Club des Belugas is taken from SYTYCD in 2007 with Lacey Schwimmer and Danny Tidwell, choreographed by Dimitry Chaplin.  It absolutely rocks and has to be the sexiest Samba ever!! So click here and enjoy!!
