Well after Midnight...

Listening to: Angus & Julia Stone

It's been a crazy few days...I need to come up for air, I kinda feel like I'm drowning right now coz it ain't over. It's all good but a little insane and it would be nice to find some quiet time to reflect, think, sit, ponder life, READ, sheesh, I don't know, stop and enjoy what's around me, the birds, the sun, the water, the colour of the sky - the lightning that lit up the Brisbane night like a Christmas tree - amazing and freaky all at the same time. Yep, I'm rambling but then I'm the Midnight Rambler...

Disappointed I didn't make the BWF this year, first one I've missed in quite a few years but I did spend all day at the CYA con which was kinda part of the BWF. I got to spend the day in workshops with John Marsden and Paul Collins and many more great inspirational people and of course fellow writers and peers, so it was fabulous. Also, great to put faces to names where I've chatted online to but never met. And catching up with interstaters was great too!

This week I'm preparing for a week long retreat of writing at Joondaburri with fellow members of 'Writers on the Edge'. Looking forward to escaping the craziness that surrounds me right now and dedicating my time to writing and time out for which hopefully will include an almost finished novel, walks along the beach, wine, food, wonderful company, laughter and hilarity. There's nothing more magick than slipping into the world of creativity and having permission to do so without all the niggly responsibilities of the outside world. So that's it for me probably until I get back, so cya in October...
